Off the top of my head I can think of a few scenarios of differing complexities..

1) Return to [Nice Town] 20players, (ludicrously?) high death rate.

A Serial Killer (Multiple SKs)convention and an Adult Survivors of Spontaneously Combusted Parents (multiple Splodeys)convention have booked at the same hotel right before the Ancient Sea Captain rose from his watery grave and possesed someone who will become his earthly host to spread his demonic seed and raise an army of zombies(a CULT).
No masons or mob, just a game of Minesweeper with character acting.
(This one I can run easily)
Start conditions = last man standing type game.

2) Sensible Cylons 20-30 players (at least 5 "days" lots of record keeping and strategy)

Two separate mafia games (one humans, one cylons) speeding toward armed conflict.
Spys, saboteurs, assasins, mechanics, counter spys, sleeper agents, splodeys.
No masons or mob.
Stratego meets paranoia.
(This one would require some prep and google groups (I'm maxed out on google groups)).
Start Conditions = last species standing

3) Ancient Evil is as Ancient Evil does (10+ players, 3-5 "days"?)

The Soul Eater SK vs. the Brotherhood.
Most players will be townies.
Need two google groups, one for the victims of the Soul Eater to advise the soul eater, and one for the Brotherhood to consult with one another.
No Masons, no Mob ... Everyone vs. the SK.
Lynches non-mandatory.
Start conditions = either the SK kills the Brotherhood or the SK dies,.

#1 looks like the most fun for me, 2 and 3 are okay but require some infrastructure and data management.

Well, if I get some shit organised this month in terms of game theme/mechanics/whathaveyou then I could feasibly run it next month (oct). after you're done with your game, etc. I don't have anything I really really really want to run right now, but I'm sure I can think of something. (My life these days would probably run to Sensible Children's Birthday Party but Sensible Epicurie already dealt with that fairly well..)

but maybe dial down the death. lets have enough fun that we're buing shovels to get rid of the corpses, but also not so wtf that no one knows what the hell is going on. Whats wrong with a good game of Mafia (With motherfucking werewolves) that you dont have to go so out of box.

Maybe re-run Sensible Paranoia sometime later.

Just because a game has been run dosent mean you cant do it again, with surprises. Frikkin Connect-4 still sells.

Any-who ... simple mafia is fun but once you get into much more than ten players you are experimenting imo and one of the old "complaints" in mafia games was the predictability .. there were issues.
I find that experimenting with dynamics works on two solid fronts..
a) it engages the players better and we have less absenteeism and rote playing.
b) reduced predictability results in heightened audience engagement as well.

Every game of mafia is ..
"Here's the start conditions, here's your role ... GO!"

A solid standard game of ten players and crafted narration would be a delight for true, and I would gladly play long side you .. but I don't want to run it.

Now, as to the death rate in Boomtown ... you've got three tribes..
townies, serial killers, splodeys.

Each Serial Killer is trying to be the last player standing.
Each Splodey is trying to get targeted for death.
Each Townie is trying to not get targeted for death.

It'll be like turning rabbits(SKs) loose in a mine(splodey) field :D
And when the dust clears .. then it'll get interesting.

I THINK it was called "Time to Die" or "Out of Time"...

I always remember you go to her apartment, and you are hit over the head. You wake up and you are tied upside down and left hanging by your foot. The only way to get free is to break a window and use the broken glass to cut yourself down.
