Other than that, I can't think of anything to say to that. That was one of the more hate-filled comments I can remember seeing on SE.

Don't be a silly. A broad sweeping word like "nigger"around is only appropriate if one is talking about the Dallas Cowboys circa 1995. And I don't know enough about who owns the teams to be able to use "kike" appropriately. At any rate, I was using "faggot" in the Louis CK sense, where Alan Cumming isn't a faggot because he's a shit-stabber, but because he didn't want to deal with the Nightcrawler makeup again so he bowed out of X-Men 3*.

A lot more people knew about this and did nothing for years. Who exactly knew and how long they knew it is in the realm of speculation, but no one continually practices serial child rape without the protection or at the very least indifference of others.

You can't back that up as a general rule. Somebody might just be really good at it. That's not to say there weren't people in this particular case that might have come forward sooner though.

I think that Sandusky was bringing in his rich pedo buddies who were making big donations to the college, that the college people were fine with that as long as they were making money and no one knew about it. There's still the matter of the missing FBi agent. Are they claiming that Sandusky offed him alone? Penn State, where you can go to fuck children in exchange for a donation to the college. The only reason anyone even cares is because of FOOTBALL!

ok. in light of the fact that not one person has come forward and claimed to have been a victim in a child prostitution ring, it's obnoxious to start pumping conspiracy theories.

If anything, shit like this draws attention away from people who should be scrutinized. Anyone in Sandusky's charity who knew that he was a rapist can now dismiss any and all criticism as "just another conspiracy theory."

Yeah it's a shame how conspiracy theories can really interfere with public scrutiny. Like for example that conspiracy theory that the president hired guys to break into the dnc chairman's room and then tried to cover it up really took away from continuing investigations of other suspected burgers.

I mean you basically seem to be arguing that there was a conspiracy around Sandusky (duh) in that people knew what he was up to and were trying to cover it up, and that the public by theorizing that this was going on, somehow is allowing the enablers a way out. How the hell are they supposed to be investigated if no one is theorizing that they committed a crime?

It's not hard to believe that many people could be drawn into a cover-up. There is a strong motivation to protect institutional reputation, especially if they believe that the institution is basically good despite what they're covering up.

The idea that many people were involved and knew about a child prostitution scam at a big charity, and yet nobody spoke up about it absolutely stretches credibility. How could anybody involved in said cover-up justify it to themselves? What would they even be protecting? Theories like this deserve to be ignored unless / until there is some actual evidence supporting them.
