Yes, it is too soon in the west and western media.
It's a shame. It is lovely symbol with a rich tradition and a very long history.
Sadly it's limited to "dur dur nazis" in the US.

It's kind of ironic that far more people have died under the cross and other religious symbols that still has peaceful connotations.

Maybe if the Confederate Flag had been a plagiarization of a symbol that had been used for millennia to denote something entirely the opposite of what it stood for.

Also too, without WWII, 100 million people would have spawned somewhere close to a billion more descendants today, making Hitler the greatest environmentalist ever. So if space hippies want to use the swastika, they have good reason to on both fronts.
