This represents a diobolical caricature of a legitimate movement, which is saddening. Sure, they've been after the lowest common denominator for at least 10 years, but I see this as a slap in the face of many other animal rights groups who will now be seen as guilty by association (rightly or wrongly) I presume that, in the public eye, the resort to smut will remove whatever remaining credibility PETA might have had. |

Eh...for PETA this is really pretty tame stuff. As I noted, there's not even any actual porn on the site, and even if there was it would be nothing compared to some of their previous campaigns- like exploiting ghastly murders and comparing factory farming to the Holocaust. The thing is, despite their penchant for drawing attention by any outrageous means necessary, PETA has been (and continues to be) a highly effective force for animal advocacy. Their 'credibility' has always been a mixed bag. Despite the fact that they seem to constantly be a deliberate target of public derision, their real credibility is in tangible results, of which they have plenty. |

The idea behind Ron Jeremy today is that a non-obese guy who doesn't have Treacher-Collins can look at him skewering a pretty 20-year-old girl with his Hebrew salami and think to himself, "I could be that guy". Of course, he would also have to have an 8-inch unit and the ability to stay erect* for hours at a time and ejaculate on cue. *More or less.
