As regards "fit" as a slang term, it can mean both sexually attractive, as displayed in some instances by the goths in hot weather, and physically capable, as is the more traditional usage. I hope this helps.

Is it a regional thing, or do some youth subcultures just happen to take heaps more pictures than others?

Skinheads and mods seem to be ALWAYS taking photos of each other.

Goths seem to do the same.

I can't really find more than a handful of photos from my misspent punk rock youth.. (or perhaps I was just antisocial?)

Well I don't know about you but in my case there's an easy explanation for this disparity:
Digital photography. During my misspent punk rock youth we had to have actual cameras with film in them in order to take pictures of each other. Not always such an easy scenario.

I've been described as "goth" by coworkers since I primarily wear black pants and black dress shirts. This is because I am lazy, not goth, black clothing all go into the washer at the same time and in the morning one need not be cognizant enough to determine color of things to not show up at work wearing green pants and a neon purple shirt.

I have encountered a similar situation due to being color blind. I avoid clothes with a lot of colors since I simply don't have the ability to match them.

Looks like a bunch of rich suburban kids who went to the mall, bought some clothes on their parent's Visa, climbed up a tree and had their mom or little sister take a picture of them. Doesn't look like a lifestyle at all.
