Spike Jonze? He used to write for this magazine called Freestylin' before he took pictures for Trans World and Thrasher. These look like they are before then, early early 80's steez here. NOTE: Spike didn't take these, just showing his roots

I wonder if the dude playing the flute in that one picture was actually playing the background music? How cool would that be? I really like that music. The whole presentation was wonderful - why can't all adverts be like this? |

Had a subscription to Freestylin' in 5th/6th grade. As you mentioned, these look like they're two years or so before that. Makes me want to shovel up a big dirt jump. I've had a strange desire to buy a BMX bike lately, I could just say it was for when my kids got bigger. |

The retro/vintage BMX scene has gotten very big. Just check Ebay for prices. You start Googling the subject and there's lots of this sort of thing floating around out there. (Igor is a BMXican) |

There was a track next to my housing area that was fairly well maintained for monthly BMX meets and us kids got to race it whenever we wanted to. I'd like to think that at least SOME of the aches and pains I have today are from that hard clay track. |
