Moving the Gymkhana 2 vid to the front page
Some recent Kanye Shenanigans....For me, this has more to do with what a fucking *TOOL* Kanye West is, than which 'flavor of the week' has the best video out. Perhaps Kanye wanted to "Touché" Joe Wilson's "You Lie!" outburst earlier in the week and felt the country music artist was the most suitable recipient.

i don't much follow or care about anything that's on mtv anymore, but was that lady gaga or bigbird's retarded cousin behind beyonce? i hate lady gaga and the oversexed, self important, solipsistic, vapid, content-free sound-garbage she's responsible for putting into the public sphere. there's a special place for her and her "fashion" in hell. bigbird's cousin however is very charming. |

It's MTV's "spontaneous" staged publicity stunt No. 346. He didn't actually insult her and it didn't make her look bad. It brought a "surprise" reaction and close-up of Beyonce. It gave Swift more time to change into her next dress for her performance afterwards. This was a smart move on MTV's part. In essence, they gave the spotlight to both Taylor Swift and Beyonce, and their different fan demographics. Plus, more people will watch the re-runs because everybody's so fucking shocked that once again, something wild and crazy happened on MTV annual wild and crazy awards show. |

Liked the practice better. This one has too much random shit like the paintball guy trying to shoot a monster sign onto the windshield, water balloons, florescent lights, and random explosions. |

I'll comp you the "mindlessly added effects" for the paint-ball part cause *that* was a little stoopid. But seriously, though...if they didn't add some 'urbane' tweaks to that vid it would be *just another rally car clip*. For you not to be able to appreciate how the presence (or absence) of ambient sound and slow motion camera works with the segments using those fluorescent bulbs and the water baloons and how they adds to the film then I think you are just running on fumes from an admittedly lousy *initial* post. The guy is amazing behind the wheel and the director did a sweet job of pimping the final edits of it to come up with some serious eye candy. |
