quote [ Archaeologists have found the remains of what could be Britain's oldest surviving human brain. ]
The ultimate amuse bouche for the epicurean zombie perhaps?
Specialists now hope to carry out further tests on the skull to establish how it has survived for so long, and perhaps more about the person whose brain it was.

I'm pretty sure that brains are kinda like sashimi when it comes to being a zombie delicacy: fresh is generally better. |

Certainly makes me feel better about the cheese omelet and corned beef hash that I just wolfed down. |

while eating *that* much cholesterol is probably a bad idea, the reality is that most cholesterol in the blood is from endogenous sources, not diet. the liver readily makes cholesterol, primarily from saturated fatty acids in foods such as the fat that accompanies red meat and from fat in dairy products. and cholesterol is found in the blood as both high density (hdl) and low density (ldl) and very low density (vldl) forms-- broken down further by more specialized tests. high levels of hdl are actually good for you. this ain't all that simple. |

While your initial bemusement *is* completely valid, the reality is that my in-depth knowledge of cholesterol biosynthesis, as shown by my lengthy quantifying parenthetical to my early use of the modal auxiliary phrasal equivalent (sentence adverb) "probably", irrefutably demonstrates the utter intellectual inadequacy of your spontaneous gastrointestinal response (gut reaction) to this particular representation of percentile proportionality (1170%). |

Did anybody else read "oldest surviving [...] brain" and was hoping it'd actually still be alive? |

Yes, I thought the same when I heard it on the radio this morning. In a 'The Man with Two Brains' sort of way. |

In a similar archeological investigation, that was in fact the last known time that Steve Martin was funny. |

You and my boyfriend, I swear. Does no one remember Bowfinger? Father of the Bride? Roxanne? For fucks sake, the man has had his more than fair share of bad movies, but he knows how to churn out winners when he wants to. |

I think 1988 was the last time he was funny, when he did Dirt, Rotten Scoundrels. |

Who knows, in a few years we might be able to download the brain's old personality and project it thoughts in picture form. |
