Once again in the middle of the night you are awoken by an explosion.
The hallway is filled with a musky mist of blood and yellow spores.
Covering your faces with the filer mask suddenly dangling from the ceiling on detachable strands you stumble out into the fog in search of its origin.
Where Cleave once had a berth there is now a smoldering hole embedded with sharp fragments of destroyed pleasure bot, across the hall, laid out on the wall by bloods adhesive properties, is the head,hands,feet, and connecting skeleton of the Ultimate Fighter Narrenschiff ... all else is conspicuously absent from the state of solidity.
In the ceiling of Cleaves room there is a ceremonial dagger buried to the hilt ... pommel first.
Given the clues at hand it becomes apparent that Narrenschiff was a member (perhaps even the leader) of the Brotherhood and came here in the middle of the night to take the "life" of the Emancipated Sex Bot.
Unfortunately for him, Cleave appears to have been heavily infected with Combustion Fungus.
And just as things were starting to finally look up for the Brotherhood too.

Well, here's the one for the anti-Io hitmen. Not much going on, three posts, all from me. I'm glad I didn't try to pick anyone, since I wouldn't have gone for misanthrope. Though it would have been nice to have had a hand in killing both the guys who had vigilante'd me in the past.

I'm not sure the best way to do that, and I doubt anybody will be very interested when the game is finished, but it shouldn't be too hard to arrange.

juju is some sort of corporate assassin, similar to assbastard, and I assume is on the town's side.
zieko is a member of the Brotherhood, so is not on the town's side.

I suppose that you should publicly shop zieko to properly confirm your status as Investigator.

With two confirmed investigations taking place every night, I think that the town will probably win this game. Unless by chance the brotherhood manage to kill your Protector or myself.

In a funny way, the game isn't going the way I like it to. I think it's more exciting when the players have to think for themselves instead of waiting for an Investigator to tell them which way to vote. But in the end you can't play to lose.

We better co-ordinate our investigations. I'm planning on investigating KingPellinore because his attempt to get a bandwagon rolling against a probable Investigator at the very start of Day 3 was very suspicious.

It's easy to waste an investigation by targeting a controversial name who is likely to be killed anyway, which is why I've been investigating the quieter ones. I checked juju on Night 1 because we sometimes chat about non-game related business, and I know that she is a very accomplished player, but doesn't let on in public.

If you don't have anybody else in mind for your next investigation, I'm also wondering about kishi. He hasn't said much, but has been posting pretty quick off the mark after a day begins, which can be another mafia trait.

KingPellinore is something... other than the Brotherhood of War. He was unaware of me as I followed him through the gently rocking carriages last night, until he came to the room of Ashura_Stephanos. He went in and closed the door behind, but through the keyhole I saw him advance upon the sleeping child. Such things that I saw would sicken even the depraved cultists of Forchan, as KingPellinore carried out his own unorthodox 'investigation'. It was clear to me that the king is also an Investigator, but that in addition he has the power to block his subjects from any other action that night. He is not on the side of the Brotherhood of War, but neither should you or I trust him with our own secrets.

I think I'll investigate Narrenschiff next. As an old hand I didn't investigate him earlier because I was worried that the Brotherhood would off him as a threat. Since that hasn't happened, maybe it's time to look more closely.

I don't have any suggestions, other than to see who cheers first when kishi goes up in smoke.

Aw, thanks for the compliment of checking me first. I probably would have done the same, since I was worried the whole game that I would have a blind spot given our friendship. But just as kishi and I have always been at cross purposes, you and I have always been in line, even if unknowingly.

Oh yeah, and I promise to PM you back soon. Life's been crazy, then I didn't want to contaminate the game by having an ongoing conversation with you outside of it.

The Anti Io hitmen were a mason type group seeking to assassinate the Ambassador from Io. Each hitman had a genetically coded heart disruptor which when triggered destroys a heart ... if they were targeting the Ambassador when they triggered it then he would die, if they picked the wrong target then they themselves would die.
The Ambassador from Io and the Io Secret Service were another mason group trying to keep the Ambassador alive till the trips end.
I had hoped that the idea of mason groups at cross purposes would have played out better but the way I set it up I'm not surprised everyone basically sat on their hands .... I should have established a leader for the hitmen as well since I think the hitmen laid low simply so they wouldn't die, a leader would have been willing to sacrifice members to achieve a goal.

THE MINDBENDER was an idea of giving a selected player the abillity to alter game play via effecting the behavior of other players.
THE MINDBENDER was an alien from a distant galaxy which used "spirit possession" to travel between the stars and find a mortal host.
THE MIND STRAIGHTENER was the "older brother" and nemises of THE MINDBENDER and could "repair" the effected and if he targeted the MINDBENDER would have driven out the alien and made Vampire_X into a plain vanilla townie.
The Alien Hunter was a vigilante seeking to capture the MINDBENDER (or THE MIND STRAIGHTENER) with his odd device .. a device which simply kills pure humans.

For this game I included some differences in the start conditions which I felt games of 20+ could benefit from in both game play and game logic.
1.) The protectors started out knowing of one another and could PM one another.
2.) If an investigator found another investigator then after that point they would be allowed to PM one another.
The Investigator/blocker did not count for this.
3.) The Investigator/Blocker, if he had uncovered a member of the Brotherhood, would have had the option of joining the brotherhood.
4.) The "Make a Wish" kid was the only character that, if the werewolf had attacked him, would have given the werewolf the option of infecting someone instead of killing them.
5.) More than one Splodey.

Finding the Gene Smuggler was a personal quest for the Martian Cops.

All of these were intended to increase player involvement and participation but I'd say they could still use a little tweaking.

Hmm. Interesting, but I would have to say that seeing how this played out having three investigators (two of which could potentially communicate) along with two protectors (who could also communicate) against only four Main Baddies is a bit unbalanced.

I suppose that has something to do with the early death of ol' werewolf and the inactivity of the hitmen. Dang!

Given that you would investigate as plain vanilla and that if KingPellinore had found one of you he could have joined you then I daresay it had as much potential for imbalance in your favor as it did against.
Not to mention:
The hitmen didn't take any risk, or attempt a kill.
The werewolf died early.
nibbon died without being infected with lycanthropy.
The MINDBENDER didn't really get into it.
The WereWolf hunter only fired one shot.
The Alien hunter killed once then died.

Also the investigators were lucky to find one another.

If you hadn't targeted an exploding victim you probably could have kept killing with impunity until you killed LoC and then you would try redemption again and after him you'd kill Stratafyre.
In my opinion, until you chose Cleave as your target it could have gone either way.

I'm also slightly worried about this Wolf thing, I'm hoping our protection will encompass all things like that.
And I know its early days, but I think either eightysix or those that jumped on the bandwagon of Nibbon may well be brotherhood. Just an inkling though.

One other thing, you mentioned a smuggler, I've not received any info on that, is that a sub-quest type thing you've got?

And well, I'll try not to get you lynched, it should be easy to claim random chance being the first day and all. Unfortunately I don't think we'll know what our protection encompasses until something bypasses it =/

Not entirely sure how much I can say about it, all I know is that I was targeted and have to use Nancy in place of any name, even in these messages to you. Though I presume when I'm voting for my protect target I can still be normal, just as with voting. I may be being "possessed" and that could be where that line of thought is coming from. As you say, we'll see when Nancy the potential smuggler bites it at the end of today (hopefully).

Nancy the potential investigator could still be what they are claiming, it's hard to tell. Especially after the last game and the events that occurred in that. Mind you, Nancy has also asked for who they should investigate, and that gives me the impression that she's being genuine. Plus the whole reveal before the lynch was removed. And she evidently believes in my role, which is a plus. So I think I'm going to have to go with protecting her again today. But I'll be watching a bit more and place my protect closer to the deadline.

I was going to vote for cleave today but I don't want to do it early and seem like I'm starting another bandwagon. And I agree with your suspicion list at the moment. Failing them being actual Brotherhood, they're all too quiet to be completely innocent.

After Stratafyre's reveal, I constantly protected Strat, with LoC protecting me. Saved 2 kills from the brotherhood, so it certainly paid off!
