Another September, another Burning Man gallery. SE's the first place I've posted it - what do you guys think?

Oh, and if any of you guys are going to be in Japan on the 28th, you'll be able to see me and my work in a two hour Burning Man documentary on JNN (in HD no less). It wouldn't suck if a torrent somehow appeared . . .

I was thinking it still had a lot of potential. Then I read this part: "Flag burning or flag worship play no part in this year's theme."

This very well may be the year with the absolute worst 'vibe' all around. Though I always wanted to host a 'bad vibe camp'.

Yeah.

The dust was brutal this year. We packed our truck in the middle of a 9-hour sandstorm that picked up again after we left - at times we couldn't see four feet in front of us. It's the first time I've ever wanted to leave early, and it'd take a lot to make me go back.

And that theme is sure as hell not it.

Something tells me there'll be plenty of flag burning though.

Your pictures look awesome as always, Patrick. Really love your eye for light and color and composition.

What does it say about me that I noticed that the woman in pictured at #41 in Chests 2007 (07-0612.jpg) is the same woman pictured in #5 Chests 2006 (06-1223.jpg)?

I'm not sure I really want to know the answer to that question.

Actually, I shoot *all* my Burning Man pictures with a Nikon F100 and a Nikon 50mm f1.4 on Velvia. This was the first year I couldn't use Velvia 50 (I used Velvia 100 instead) because Fuji discontinued it last year. There was an understandably huge uproar when they did, so they said they'd bring it back this summer. Unfortunately "summer" meant one week after Burning Man, godammit.
