quote [ What does the scanner see? ]
it's a hotlink to a QT mov, but I think Warner Bros will be ok with that.
This looks sooo cool. Lotsa great actors + Keanu. Looks like Linklater has finally worked out the rotoscope-esque animation technique into something watchable.

fuck, this may be his best book. it's about an undercover narcotics cop named fred who is assigned to arrest a dealer named bob (i may have the names reversed and my books are packed away right now). teh only problem is, they're both the same guy. all thanks to a lovely drug called substance D. great shit. that's a pretty bare bones summary, but just throw in some of the regular pdk shit about paranoia, altered reality, what it means to be human and all that shit and it comes out pretty amazing. i read it at least once a year now. go get it if you like dick. or philip k dick for that matter. |

It's odd. I'm sure I've read it but can't remember a damned thing about it, even though I remember lesser stuff like Counterclock World and The Penultimate Truth. I'd better go get a copy, I think. My favourite probably is Martian Timeslip. The world inside the autistic boy's mind is amazingly written. The word "gubbish" entered my lexicon as a result of that book. Brilliant. |

To add to the above comment, this is also the first book of his that he ended well. The plot lines fit together and the ending made me smile, but in a sad way. It didn't leave me dissapointed like Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Definately worth the read. |

Keanu amassed so much wealth from the Matrix series that he simply bought all of the international patents on cyberpunk protagonists. It is now impossible to film any such story without a license from Keanu, Ltd. |

Okay, rebuttle time: Waking Life - very intersting and overall very good. School of Rock - great movie; oneof the best "kid" movies ever; JB's so funny Dazed and Confused - HILARIOUS!!! Plus, Before Sunrise and Before Sunset - two of the most inteligent, well-written, and beautiful romance movies in recent memory; Bad News Bears - made me laugh a lot! I love Linklater - I am also stoked for his adaptation of Fast Food Nation; the man's as close to a guaranteed hit as I know of: he always is evolving and pushing boundaries; even if the end resukt is less than a masterpiece, he is always trying something new. |

Do you actually read the stories however? Because there have been some shitty adaptations. I presume you haven't read PKD because you mention Blade Runner as a PKD story, which it ain't. As it is, I'm sure WB is getting the better end of the deal. Not only did I help promote their product, when the movie actually comes out, I'll be in line early to drop $9.50 on a ticket, pay another $9 for 32 cents worth of popcorn and sugar water and still be forced to sit thru 15 minutes worth of commercials for cell phone services I'm not interested in and local car dealerships I'll never visit. |

So he likes to play cyberpunk movies, just like Segal likes to beat up people with the same plots he done already. BooHoo Untill they fucking die live with it. Alot of actors go hand in hand with things Im only suprised or pissed when they dont and it turns out baaaaad. Last Keanu Reeves movies I saw all were good. Except that baseball one. I hate baseball.
