honestly, how motherfucking hard can it be?! I'm sure they could have pulled it off in the olden days of practical effects, but now they're gonna say "this would have been impossible without CGI" on the dvd commentary track. yeah, impossible to make it look like CGI!

Remember the What If? series? Remember how occasionally, after the main storyline of the issue, there were a few one-page mini-What-If throwaway jokes? Y'know how Ghost Rider's motorcycle had wheels made of flame?

Well ok opened it in Internal Exploder and there it worked.
I couldn't push the "allow poop-up" butt-on cause the page openes in fullscreen, the bottom status bar is not displayed.

i rolled my first joint with the pages of these two comics at age 12.

from there i went on to harder stuff like graphic novels and underground comics and eventially ended up drawing comics for a while. i realised i was too lazy to write, plot and draw with complete dedication and became a graphic designer instead.

but really - the writing of Alan Moore in that Swamp thing was insane. Freaks (GR) was just as amazing - it was more sophisticated and intense than anything else i was reading up to that point (Batman / Daredevil). And it was dark and ominous and was in a sense a coming of age as a young comic reader.

These days i don't read superhero comics anymore. Dan Clowes, Loustal, Mattoti, Charles Burns and a bunch of French comic artists have taken their place. I still have boxes of old superhero comics i cherish and read. The silver age was a great era for comics.

I never really liked american comics. I grew up on beautifully painted french and other artsy ones.
But I loved Punisher, it's fair to say it left a mark on my personality to some point.
And when the memory erasure technology comes, I'll order from them to erase my memory of reading ALF comics, whom I bought just cause I was a stupid kid with cash to burn.

Hey, me too! Swamp Thing and Ghost Rider -- They were the only comics I worshipped as a bubble-gum chewing youth. Those, and "I, Vampire" and "House of Mystery".

That would be very...very hard to do. Marvel seemed to be the initial winner in the race of the comic book movies but DC looks like its going to come out victorious in the long run. Batman Begins was excellent and it sold a lot, Constantine before it was at least decent and it sold pretty well, and it looks like V for Vendetta is going to be good and might sell well if DC markets it well enough. This doesn't even include the new Superman movie and all the other original Justice League member movies. All Marvel has to credit to their name recently is Fantastic 4...which blew, and Elektra, which I can't talk about lest I burst into flames. I expect this to be a flop but I really hope it isn't...I wasn't one who ever followed Ghost Rider but I've its decent and I always want good comics to really shine on film.

Check out the Ultimate Secret comic, they're building up to Galactus, I haven't followed it because I fucking hate how they can't get to the actual event of Galactus' arrival in one series of books, much less the fact that they are going on 3 right now. Silver Surfer should show up quickly...I think, but you never know. It would be cool if they actually made a good Fantastic 4 movie with the world devouring titan himself, but that would involve Marvel making anything good that isn't Spiderman or X-men, but that would also mean that armageddon has come. To be fair, its extremely hard to make a good Fantastic 4 movie, especially when you have god awful actors/actresses to play the main roles.

I don't think that they are going to bring back the Silver Surfer, because Marvel has a policy about how many fights per page there has to be in their books and the Silver Surfer is always slightly introspective at his best.

Sweet mother of Gandhi! That motorcycle looks like it was designed by a 14-year old fan of Urotsukidoji. Its only redeeming quality is that the flames may eventually ignite the fuel tank and send it to the flaming pit it deserves to be recycled in.
